From tossing out ballot initiative petition signatures to threatening to release our sensitive voter data to the federal government the public's trust in the Secretary of State's office is at an all-time low.

Following the laws and the will of the people are not optional or up for interpretation. The citizens of Nebraska deserve more respect than they have been given by the SoS lately.

What erodes trust?

• Corruption, lack of transparency, and perceived unfairness.

• Misleading information and a failure to be responsive to public needs.

• Perceptions that officials don't act in the public's best interest.

As Secretary of State, I will work hard to bring trust and transparency back to the office.
