Making Voting Secure and Accessible

I firmly believe that every eligible Nebraskan has a civic responsibility to vote. But the reality is, voting can feel intimidating or confusing for a lot of folks. Between ever-changing precinct locations and our newly instituted Voter ID law, there are massive information gaps that leave everyday voters looking for answers.

My opponent wants to use these shifts to implement a partisan playbook that alienates voters and takes away your voting rights. I want to protect our elections, protect your vote, and focus on common-sense efficiency that makes our government work for you.

One of the most practical ways we can close these gaps, boost voter turnout, and keep our elections secure is by implementing same-day voter registration.

Why Same-Day Registration Makes Sense for Nebraska

Twenty-three states, including our neighbors in Iowa and Wyoming, already allow same-day registration, and they've seen incredible results. Now that Nebraska has a secure Voter ID law on the books, adding same-day registration is safer, easier, and more secure than ever before.

  • Secures the Process: By utilizing the current Voter ID framework, election workers can verify a voter's identity and register them securely right at the polling place.

  • Cuts Bureaucratic Red Tape: It eliminates arbitrary registration deadlines that accidentally lock eligible, busy citizens out of the democratic process.

  • Fixes Honest Mistakes: If a voter moves across town and forgets to update their paperwork, they shouldn't lose their voice. Same-day registration ensures honest mistakes don't cost a citizen their vote.

The Bottom Line: We don't need Washington-style drama or gatekeeping in Lincoln. We need a secure, modern system that encourages participation while protecting the integrity of every single ballot.
